Fishermans Point

Why we love it

Fisherman's Point enjoys its part in early settlement and convict history where local industry varied from orange growing to fishing. Orange growing can still be accessed within the National Park while fishing boats, prawn trawlers and oyster production remain a daily sight.

Marramarra Lodge and buildings enjoy a long and rich history and currently rests in the capable hands of a group of active lovers of the outdoors from the south coast of NSW. They offer you a warm welcome when you join the team at Marramarra Lodge.

Boutique and intimate, Marramarra Lodge allows you to make the most of the active landscape or do nothing whilst slipping away into your own secluded part of the landscape.

Food

Budyari restaurants Michelin starred Executive Chef, Meyjitte Bougenhout and his talented and creative team have carefully crafted menus to highlight fresh, organic local produce native to the Hawkesbury Region.

Amongst classic combinations with clever twists, you will find produce from fishing trawlers that pass Marramarra Lodge daily, to local bush tucker the team have foraged for and native fresh produce grown onsite in our kitchen garden.

Dinner in Budyari Restaurant is a journey undertaken through a degustation menu.

A light lunch is provided in Budyari Restaurant daily though they also offer transfers to some iconic local water-access-only restaurants such as Berowra Waters Inn and Peats Bite.

Destination

The site of Marramarra Lodge nestled on Fisherman's point, has been a part of the Dharug people’s traditional lands for tens of thousands of years. Shellfish middens (mounds containing the remains of many Aboriginal shellfish meals, tools and occasionally bone artifacts) as well as traditional rock carvings, surround the area.

Marramarra National Park provides the only land access to the Lodge and accommodation. With no roads to mar it’s beauty, hiking and boating is the best way to discover both the cultural history and wildlife. Typical wildlife often seen at Marramarra lodge include sea eagles, lyrebirds, wallabies, goannas, bandicoots, black and white cockatoos, bush turkeys and kookaburras. The odd Diamond Python can be found warming himself in the sun but takes no interest in the low impact occurrences at Marramarra Lodge.
